1. Workpiece: Before purchasing, you need to fully consider the size, specification, stroke and structural height of the parts you produce. What we are looking for is a machine that is suitable for our production and can complete the processing task with a shorter workbench and smaller tonnage.

2. Deflection: You also need to consider the possible deflection of this machine. Under the same load, the deflection of the workbench and slider of the 10-foot machine is 4 times that of the 5-foot machine. That is to say, a shorter machine requires less shim adjustment to produce qualified parts.

3. Bending radius: If the bending radius is less than the material thickness, a punch with a front corner radius less than the material thickness must be used, and the stamping bending method must be used. In this way, 10 times the pressure of free bending is required. In order to choose extremely low tonnage specifications, try to plan for bending radii greater than the material thickness and use free bending methods as much as possible.

4. Bending accuracy: Bending accuracy requirements are a factor that needs to be carefully considered. It is this factor that determines whether a CNC bending machine or a manual bending machine needs to be considered. The repeatability of the slider of a CNC bending machine is ±0.0004 inches, and the repeatability of the slider of a manual bending machine is ±0.002 inches.

Once the choice is not made properly when purchasing a bending machine, the production cost will rise, and the bending machine cannot be expected to recover the cost. So these factors can be weighed when making decisions.
