"Waste cutting" has always been a "hard nut to crack" problem for fiber laser cutting machines. Many fiber laser cutting machine practitioners often encounter parts sticking to the plate and not completely separated; or the remaining waste is misaligned with the parts as a whole, and the waste itself is huge and cannot be moved, causing the parts to be stuck in it. These situations will bring great trouble to the sorting work of on-site personnel, and the processing efficiency is also limited. Therefore, the introduction of reasonable waste separation methods has become an "urgent need" in the laser processing industry.

HGNEST, independently developed by REBOUND CNC, defines waste lines as two types. One is a waste line set on the plate at a fixed interval through the entire plate, which is called a fixed-length waste line. The other is a waste line formed by radiating from the end point of the part to the surrounding area, which is called an end point waste line. Different waste lines can be selected according to different application scenarios. Generally, the interval of the fixed-length waste line is set to one-tenth of the plate size.

In order to ensure that the waste line is cut just right without damaging the parts, the waste line cannot fit the edge of the parts, and a gap of the slit width must be left. This gap is called the waste line and part spacing, which is generally set to the slit radius, that is, the knife compensation value. Because the size of the plate is often large, if the frame waste line is cut according to the set plate value, it is often not completely cut, so it is necessary to set the plate overcut length and increase the overcut line to ensure that the plate is completely cut.

Nowadays, "automated production lines" and "smart factories" have become manufacturing trends. It is very important to ensure the continuity of the automated process and a stable production process. A reasonable waste separation algorithm is an important part of it. The self-developed and optimized nesting software will further enhance the efficiency of waste separation. REBOUND CNC will provide customers with more comprehensive and efficient services with more advanced technology and insights, and continue to follow the innovative research and development path of "industry leadership, domestic substitution, specialization and innovation".
