CNC plasma cutting machine is a new type of thermal cutting equipment. Its working principle is to use the heat of high-temperature plasma arc to partially melt the metal at the incision of the workpiece, and use the momentum of high-speed plasma to remove the molten metal to form an incision.

With the development of CNC plasma cutting machines, the working gas that can be used has a significant impact on the cutting characteristics of the plasma cutting machine as well as the cutting quality and speed. The fiber laser cutting machine uses a high-power density laser beam to scan the surface of the material, heat the material to thousands to tens of thousands of degrees Celsius in a very short time, melt or vaporize the material, and then use high-pressure gas to melt or vaporize the material. The material is blown away from the cutting seam to achieve the purpose of cutting the material. Laser cutting uses an invisible beam instead of a traditional mechanical knife. The mechanical part of the laser cutter head has no contact with the work and will not cause scratches to the work surface during work. The laser cutting speed is fast and the incision is smooth and flat. Generally, no subsequent processing is required; the cutting heat-affected zone is small, the plate deformation is small, and the cutting slit is narrow (0.1mm0.3mm); the incision has no mechanical stress, no shearing burrs, high processing accuracy, good repeatability, and no damage to the material surface; CNC programming , can process any floor plan, and can cut entire panels with large formats without opening molds, which is economical and time-saving.
Summary: In terms of cutting accuracy, plasma can reach within 1mm and laser can reach within 0.2mm. In terms of cost, plasma cutting machines are much cheaper than laser cutting machines. In terms of processing accuracy, CNC plasma cutting is compared to fiber laser cutting. One is rough processing and the other is fine processing!
