CNC plasma cutting machines, combined with an easy-to-use CNC system, ionize a high-speed air jet from a nozzle at high temperatures to form a conductor. When an electric current passes through it, the conductor forms a high-temperature plasma arc. The heat of the arc locally melts (and vaporizes) the metal at the cut of the workpiece, and the power of the high-speed plasma stream is used to remove the molten metal to form the cut. The slender and stable plasma arc formed by the annular airflow technology ensures that any conductive metal can be cut stably and economically.

When using a CNC plasma cutting machine, the cutting quality is unstable and wearing parts are frequently replaced. Found that more users use CNC plasma cutting machines irregularly

Not paying enough attention to some details. Here we have summarized some tips for daily use of CNC plasma cutting machines, hoping to bring convenience to you:

1. Cutting should start from the edge

Whenever possible, cut from the edge rather than through the hole. Using the edge as a starting point will extend the life of your supplies. The correct method is to aim the nozzle directly at the edge of the workpiece and then start the plasma arc.

2. Reduce unnecessary "arc (or arc striking)" time

During arc discharge, the nozzle and electrode are consumed very quickly. Before you begin, the cutting torch should be placed within walking distance of the metal being cut.

3. Do not overload the nozzle

Overloading the nozzle (i.e. exceeding the nozzle's operating current) will quickly damage the nozzle. The current intensity should be 95% of the nozzle operating current. For example, the amperage for a 100A nozzle should be set to 95A.

4. Use a reasonable tangent distance

According to the requirements of the instruction manual, use a reasonable cutting distance, that is, the distance between the cutting nozzle and the workpiece surface. When piercing, try to use twice the normal cutting distance or as much height as the arc can travel.

5. The perforation thickness should be within the allowable range of the machine system

The cutting machine cannot penetrate steel plates that exceed the working thickness. The normal penetration thickness is 1/2 of the normal cutting thickness.

Any dirt on the torch and consumables will seriously affect the functionality of the plasma system. When replacing wearing parts, place them on a clean flannel, check the connecting ribs of the cutting torch, and clean the electrode contact surface and nozzle with hydrogen peroxide cleaner. The combination of CNC cutting machine and plasma power supply is called CNC plasma cutting machine. Plasma cutting is prone to cracks. There are many causes of cracks. Generally speaking, the best cutting speed range of a plasma CNC cutting machine can be selected based on equipment mapping or determined through experiments. However, due to the influence of factors such as the thickness, material, melting point, thermal conductivity, and surface tension after melting of the workpiece to be cut by the CNC plasma cutting machine.

The cutting speed of CNC cutting machines also changes accordingly. The main performances are as follows:

1. Appropriately increasing the cutting speed of the plasma CNC cutting machine can improve the cutting quality, that is, the cutting is slightly narrower, the cutting surface is smoother, and deformation can be reduced.

2. When the cutting speed of the plasma CNC cutting machine is too fast, the cutting line energy is lower than the required value. The jet in the cutting slit cannot quickly blow away the cutting melt of the molten pair, thus forming a large amount of resistance. As slag catches on the cut, the surface quality of the cut decreases.

3. When the cutting speed of the plasma CNC cutting machine is too low, because the cutting position is the anode of the plasma arc, in order to maintain the stability of the arc itself, the anode point or anode area needs to find the conductive current position near the cutting seam close to the arc, and at the same time , more heat will be transferred to the radial direction of the jet, so that the cut will become wider, and the molten material on both sides of the cut will gather and solidify at the bottom edge, forming slag that is not easy to clean. Additionally, the upper edges of the cuts can become rounded due to excessive heating and melting.
