When it comes to adjusting the speed of CNC plasma cutting machine, we should first understand what factors affect them. The influencing factors are the model of the cutting machine, the material of the cutting workpiece, the size of the input voltage at the cutting site, and the working gas and flow rate. After understanding the factors affecting the cutting speed, we will introduce the adjustment method in detail in the following content.

First of all, we need to understand that the cutting speed specifications of different auxiliary cutting gases are also different. Taking air plasma arc cutting as an example, when the CNC plasma cutting machine cuts carbon steel plate, with 230A cutting current as the standard, the cutting speed of 6mm thick carbon steel plate can reach 3300mm/min, which is more suitable; when the plate thickness is adjusted to 40mm, the cutting speed is limited to 500mm/min to ensure the cutting effect and quality. If other auxiliary cutting gases are used, such as pure oxygen cutting, the cutting speed decreases more. At the same 230A cutting current, although the pure oxygen plasma cutting speed for 6mm thick carbon steel plate can be increased to 3700mm/min, the cutting speed for 40mm carbon steel plate is only 350mm/min. It can be seen that in order to adjust the speed of the CNC plasma cutting machine, we should first control the thickness of the auxiliary equipment.

In general, as a CNC cutting equipment, the staff should increase the cutting speed as much as possible under the premise of ensuring the cutting quality of the CNC plasma cutting machine. This not only improves productivity, but also reduces the deformation of the cut parts and the heat affected area of the cutting seam. If the cutting speed is not appropriate, the effect is the opposite, and it will increase the sticky slag and reduce the cutting quality.
