After a new lens is installed, it should be cleaned regularly.

How should the lens of a fiber laser cutting machine be cleaned?

 1. The protective lens material is zinc oxide (arsenic zinc oxide), which is fragile and not easy to fall off. When disassembling and assembling, you should pay attention to: do not use too much force and do not collide with hard objects. There is an anti-reflective film on the surface of the lens, which is afraid of pollution, moisture, oil, and scratching. Therefore, dry air is required during work, and do not touch the protective lens directly with your hands, because the oil on the skin will cause permanent damage to the surface of the lens. You can wear gloves or their special sets to operate. For smaller lenses, it is more convenient to use optical tweezers or vacuum tweezers. No matter which method is used, when we take the lens, we can only clamp it along the non-optical surface, such as mirror edge grinding.

2. In general, the protective lens of the machine should be checked before use and before and after cleaning. Since most contaminants and surface defects are small, we often need to use magnifying devices to check the lenses. In addition to magnifying devices, sometimes we also need to illuminate the optical surface with a brighter beam to enhance the mirror reflection of surface contaminants and defects, so that contaminants and defects are easier to find.

3. When cleaning the fiber laser cutting machine to protect the lens, clean wiping paper and optical solvents are often used to prevent damage from other contaminants. The wiping paper must be moistened with a suitable solvent and cannot be dried. Considering the softness, the available wiping paper is pure cotton mesh wiping paper or cotton balls, lens paper, cotton swabs and other applicators.

Of course, there are some pollutants and lens damage that cannot be removed by cleaning, especially the film burnout caused by spatter and dirt. The only way to restore good performance is to replace the lens of the fiber laser cutting machine.
